James' parents were both born in NY
Idea was born in Wisconsin, both her parents were born in Germany.

It would be a safe conclusion, that Idea is either Merrill's father's sister or his mother's sister and that both of Merrill's grandparents on either paternal or maternal side were born in Germany. As soon as I can find Frank's parents through his death certificate or other document, I will be able to trace this more.
