William is buried in the "Gilreath" cemetary in Pulaski county, KY. Sarah is listed on the 1900 census in Whitley county living with her son-in-law Joseph and daughter Julia Smith. To date no grave marker for Sarah has been found although unmarked grave sites are located on the both sides of William.

**James Lewis Gilreath, nephew of William Wesley, in his application for discharge, lists at least one engagement against the confederates at "Blue Springs, TN" during the Seige of Knoxville.

NOTES FOR THE ABOVE CHILDREN: Julia, youngest child of William and Sarah, is one of the three children listed by Sarah as her dependents in her 1893 pension record. The children, and dates of birth, were listed as follows:

James G. March 13, 1871, Thomas S. born May, 1874, Julia A. June 10, 1879

The pension record lists William Elijah Gilreath (another son) as her attorney and one of the witnesses was Mary Gilreath, wife of William E.

It appears that the date listed for Thomas S. is different that the date he used on later records but the dates listed for the other two children agree with later records. In 1900, Sarah is listed on the census as the mother in law, living in the home of Josiah Smith. The following is a list of Josiah's family:

NOTES FOR ANNIE GILREATH:

Annie was the child from Thomas's first marriage to Mintie Anderson. From the Whitley county marriage files. There is also a copy of a handwritten note signed by Cam Anderson giving permission for his daugher Mintie to wed Thomas.

It has been speculated that there were 2 children from that marriage, but the 1910 census shows the following information:

The children from Thomas and Cynthia are: Annie (13), Minnie (6), Lucille (2) and Agnes (10/12)*I'm assuming months old*. They answered the census questions that Thomas has been married 2 times, Cynthia 1 times, they both answered 7 years for marriage length, Cynthia answered that she was the mother of 4 children total, 4 living. With this information, it would show Annie as the only child of Thomas's first marriage to Mintie Anderson**see note above**. I do know the marriage ended due to the death of Mintie. That is when Thomas came to Oklahoma, Wagoner co, and met and married Cynthia.
